A native desktop time tracking app for macOS. Track all 24 hours of your day — work, health, hobbies, and family. No ads, no limits, completely free.
macOS 10.15+ · Intel & Apple Silicon · DMG installer

Why a Desktop App?
You can use Timetracker in Safari — but a native Mac app has real advantages for people who spend most of their day at a computer.
Always Running
Lives in your menu bar, launches at login. No browser tab to manage, no risk of accidentally closing it. Your timer keeps running in the background.
One Click Away
Click the menu bar icon to switch activities instantly. No searching through browser tabs or bookmarks. The tracker is always one click from wherever you are.
Lightweight
Tiny install size, minimal memory footprint. Built with Tauri — no Electron bloat. Runs quietly without draining your battery or slowing down your Mac.

How It Works
Set Up Your Life Areas
Create 5-7 areas like Work, Health, Sleep, and Hobbies. Add a few activities under each. Takes about 2 minutes.
Track as You Go
Click an activity to start tracking. When you switch to something else, click the new activity — the previous timer stops automatically.
See Where Time Goes
Check daily, weekly, and monthly breakdowns. See exactly how you divide your time across work, health, family, and everything else.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Timetracker for Mac really free?
Yes, completely free. No ads, no trial period, no feature limits. All features are available from day one.
What versions of macOS are supported?
Timetracker runs on macOS 10.15 (Catalina) and later, including Ventura, Sonoma, and Sequoia. Supports both Intel and Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4) Macs.
Does it sync with my iPhone?
Yes. Your data syncs across all devices — Mac, iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows, and the web app. Start a timer on your Mac, switch it from your iPhone.
Is it available on the Mac App Store?
Not yet — you can download the DMG installer directly from our website. The Mac App Store version is planned for the future.
Can I track more than just work hours?
That's what Timetracker is designed for. Unlike most time trackers that focus on billable hours, Timetracker covers your entire day — work, sleep, exercise, hobbies, family time, and everything in between.
Is my data private?
Your data is stored securely and is only accessible to you. We don't sell data, show ads, or share your information with third parties.
Can I use it without installing anything?
Yes — the web app at timetracker.live works in any browser, including Safari. The Mac desktop app is optional, for people who prefer a native experience without keeping a browser tab open.
I see a 'damaged app' warning when I try to open it. What do I do?
Since the app isn't from the Mac App Store, macOS may block it on first launch. Right-click the app and select 'Open', then click 'Open' again in the dialog. You only need to do this once.
